Saltaire is one of two incorporated villages and the second largest in physical size on Fire Island.
A family oriented community with a day camp, yacht club with tennis courts, ocean
and bay lifeguards,
and village store in the town center.
Summer highlights include 4th of July day camp festivities as well as the SCAA's arts and music festival,
garden tour, as well as the annual Saltaire jogathon and 10k races. Enjoying magnificent summer sunsets
at the bay front is often the perfect way to end a Saltaire summer day, before enjoying Fire Island's nightlife.
Definitely not the place to go to for night life. Saltaire is a very quiet, conservative community.
It's the definite place for a relaxing, family orientated getaway. Saltaire has a nice new playground, baseball and soccer field, and a newly paved basketball court, at which every night the guys get together and play. When residents stay for the summer, their children enjoy the fun of Saltaire's summer camp. Parents have a chance to relax while kids enjoy a fun filled day of activities including arts and crafts, sports, and swimming. If you'd like, you can even become a member of the Saltaire Yacht Club and take up tennis or have a drink with a buddy on a
Friday night at the bar. MEMBERS ONLY PLEASE!!! (HA, HA) All in all, Saltaire is a great place to be a resident,
For nightlife you'll appreciate that Kismet is right next door (for the Barbecues and Bars).
