Where everyone ends up at some point of their weekend. This town has the most shops, restaurants and hotels of any town on the island. Affectionately called "The Land of NO", they have recently relaxed some of the hard-core rules that kept some summer lovers from renting. For example, I believe that you can now bar-b-que at your house!
Aside from the rules, it is still the most popular town on the island. Families, as well as singles inhabit this area, and if you stand on Bay Walk (the main drag that links Ocean Bay Park, Seaview and Ocean Beach) at any time after 10:00 on a Saturday Night, you can watch the exodus of partiers head from their towns to Ocean Beach to go dancing, drinking and, a BIG PLUS, no driving.
It's also a great place for Shopping, Eating, and to see a feature movie in the Town Hall.

Watch Hill
Watch Hill is a beautiful, fun and peaceful family community, accessible by private boat, ferry (from Patchogue), or a short walk from Davis Park. This jewel of the Fire Island National Seashore features a 200 slip marina, camp sites, nature walks, public showers and a clean, wide, life-guarded beach. Slips are reasonably priced, and accommodate boats up to 60 feet, with electric, water and pump-out facility. The marina is open from May 15th through October 15th. A small, well stocked general store, snack bar and pizzeria are open daily.
Nestled snugly at the marina, The Sea Shore Inn offers first class dining and cocktails, in a casual atmosphere. Indoor and outdoor seating, seductive sunsets, and friendly, attentive staff
complement the delectable and diverse menu, featuring Fire Island's finest duck, fresh seafood, pastas, steaks, chops and daily specials. Diners and friends enjoy a distinguished selection of wines, draft and bottled beers, and special frozen drinks. A
charming and friendly family of hosts welcome old friends and new visitors to enjoy Fire Island's most beautiful and pleasant Shangri-la.
Visitors lucky to spot Jason Fox at the bar are delighted to buy him a cocktail.
